Cupcake

This girl.
She's funny, talkative, curious, wild, always on the move, quite independent, loves pink and thinks it is important that everyone knows whatever is on her mind.  Ahem.
She doesn't like to be told no, doesn't want to take her nap, doesn't want to eat dinner tonight because it is whatever, but remembers dessert and dives in because she loves her desserts.
She's a little princess with big brothers.  So she loves pink and dress up and would live outside in the dirt if she could.  She plays Legos and chews her food into the shape of squirt guns.
One day a neighbor stopped in (yes, unannounced) and he commented on how pretty she was.  I told him that's why Daddy has a shotgun.  She announced that, "And I have a fart gun."  And let me tell you, she's not afraid to use it.  Luckily, I have a forcefield.
She's hilarious, gets jokes, makes up her own, can't sit still for two seconds together.
She's a natural with our Chinese language lessons and nails those tones perfectly.
She's memorizing all the Bible verses with the boys and I and I'm sure she'll remember them long after my addled brain loses them in the fog.
She loves the chickens and bunnies and kinda wants to see the bear in the yard.
She makes a beautiful tea party on the Grandpa table and carries her dolls around like a loving Mommy.  Until something else catches her eye ("Squirrel!") and she drops the doll and runs.
She reminds me a bit of Olivia.  And yes, she wears me out.
But my heart is simply filled with love for her and I wonder what God will do with her beautiful wild life.
She sings "Amazing Grace" and all is well in the world.

this is 3

Kisses for you.

She wanted a Pink Party.  I asked her what that was.
"I want a pink cake with pink frosting and pink ice cream.  I want pink presents."
I can do that.

She decided she needed to sample that pink frosting immediately.  And was it ever pink!

Wearing the necklace Grandma Gail made her opening pink Legos from Grandma Eileen and Grandpa.

A pink bunny for she loves bunnies.

The brothers helping her play Legos on her playmat I made her.  Thanks to Bonnie for the idea!  The boys play with the one you made them still and she was always pretending to pick the flowers off it.  So I made her one with lots of flowers and hearts and butterflies, trees, rocks, water, a stream, and even a little felt bunny.

I filled the dining room with flowers and hung the bunting.  We're ready to party!

The birds and words were something my Grandma used when my Dad was little.  There are blue birds as well, but Cupcake asked for the pink ones.

Thank you Grandma Eileen for the pink plates and napkins.  They were a hit.

She really liked the frosting.

Dumpling didn't think it was too bad either.

Summer's Here.

Cupcake
Remember how I just mentioned how odd the weather has been?  How it's been so much cooler than normal?  Yeah, that's over.  It is 109* as I type this.  The sunflowers are more than doubled in size from just a few days ago.
Guess I'll keep pinning cold drink recipes...

First Fish

Pumpkin caught his first fish yesterday!!
I think his smile was as big as the fish.

Dumpling is holding Sweetheart's catch.

Stylish, isn't he?
He gets it from his Father.

Cupcake pet the fish.
That was enough for her.

We all enjoyed our pizza dinner as they arrived just moments after I posted yesterday.
Guess I'd better keep making extra pizzas to freeze for fishing days.  ;)

Girl Time

Sweetheart took the boys fishing this afternoon.  So, I put the kettle on and popped some special caramel popcorn.  Cupcake and I are watching "Anne of Green Gables" for some serious girl time.  It's getting late enough now that I'm thinking a fish dinner just is not going to happen tonight.  Glad I stashed an extra pizza in the freezer the last time I made pizzas.
I guess us girls are having pizza and watching more "Anne".
And sipping more tea in this lovely violet teacup a coworker gave me years ago.  It had been her aunt's, or great aunt's. She didn't want it and knew I liked tea so she gave it to me.  I love it.  The violets always make me think of my beautiful Grandmother.

Pretty Darn Cute Cupcake

"Yuck!" she said.

This may be my favorite, just because it captures her so well.

I love this wild, beautiful, loving, silly girl.

Community Egg Hunt

Cupcake!
Dumpling's Grin
He totally froze when it was time to get the eggs.  I ended up going with him holding his hand.

We had so much fun after the hunt just running around playing together.
Please notice Cupcake's ADORABLE dress/pinafore handmade by the lovely Bonnie!!!
She ended up with all the eggs at one point.
He still had fun.
Anyone still wondering how Cupcake got all that hair?
