At Home

Pumpkin and I are having a quiet day at home today. We are home most days, but we did go run some errands and go out to lunch yesterday. However, by last night I was so tired and sore from walking, that I think I'm done running around until our new little one arrives.

Besides, trying to keep up with Pumpkin now that he is on the go is exhausting in and of itself! But the joy, oh the joy, of seeing him walk! I'm not sure I would feel so much happiness and wonder about it all had he just popped up and walked as others his age do. As challenging as the accident and recovery were, it has made us so more aware of every little blessing and step.

I'm not too sure what to write about these days as I feel like my brain has turned to mush and I'm just waiting around for something (anything!) to happen.

I was up this morning about three wandering around the house when I remembered the eclipse. Abner and I went out back to check it out. The moon was full and so bright that I laughed to see the sunflowers turned to it in the sky rather than the sun!

Phototropism is a pretty cool thing. Yes, I taught Science. That was one of the joys of teaching Elemenrary School, the teacher can learn right along with the students on so many subjects! Besides, the more enthusiasm I could generate about something, the more the students would have about that subject as well! (For all you non-science teachers: phototropism is the growth of a plant in relation to a light source. Positive phototropism means that the plants grows towards the light, negative phototropism simply means that it grows away from a light.) Can you tell that I'm looking forward to homeschooling?

Back to the eclipse...I didn't get to see the beautiful red color that was visible later, but definitely noticed the shadow across about 3/4 of the moon. It was so quiet and peaceful outside with the concrete still damp from the earlier rain. I would have enjoyed being out longer, but was unsure how long Abner would last before he found something to bark at. I don't want to hear any dogs, not even my own, barking at 3:00 am. Now, if only our neighbors felt the same. Sigh.

Well, since Pumpkin is resting I should to! I was able to accomplish a lot the other day while he napped, but today I figure I'd better get some sleep myself. Blessings to you all! Thank you for the sweet comments and prayers for us during this time. I've also copied down the verses people have left and welcome more if you've got them!

p.s. I can't think of any verses off the top of my head except Psalm 139, if that hasn't been mentioned already.

((Kimberly)) ~ I check everyday to see where you are with things. :o) In the event that nothing has happened overnight (and wouldn't that be exciting if it has!), here is my list of verses.

...because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. ... Hebrews 13:5b-6a

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Whom I trust." Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:1-4

Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124:8

Psalms 127 and 128 (inspiration of the blessing on the other side of labor)

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Philippians 2:13

And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

And encouragement for the wait:

In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14

We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You. Psalm 33:20-22

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Blessings and comfort, coolness and serenity to you, my dear friend.

Even though I am working a few more days, I pop in before and after work to see if the "big event" has arrived.

Sigh, I went through this with my real daughter. No I'm going through it again with a virtual daughter. :)
