I've struggled for awhile with what to write.
Nothing is wrong and we are all well.
Some of the struggle has been simply the full season of markets and sales. Spare moments must be spent making product to sell. That's the nature of it.
I've also taken this quiet season to be filling up my space with others' words. I read quite a lot. Book after book absorbed, Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-57265400281353529902016-08-22T12:07:00.002-06:002016-12-02T11:26:53.651-07:00New Friends~
This has been a summer of new friendships. And I've needed them. Some of the women I now consider my friends I met shortly after moving back, but it's taken time to establish relationships and believe I can really call these my friends. After so many, so very lonely, years I am simply grateful. Part of it is just the wonder that someone would want to be my friend. Spring ended at some point. We finished up school for a bit and I've been busy at the Farmers Markets each weekend. I have two more weeks and then a break until Autumn. The extreme heat of Summer is too much for my Body Butters and various Balms. They'll melt into puddles of oils that just aren't pretty. ;)
I was beginning to think I would not be able to get backKimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-75734412721232486572016-04-19T14:29:00.000-06:002016-04-19T14:29:33.414-06:00Bookish~
One of the fun things our local Library does is have what is called a Books & Brews Night each month. We meet up at a local brew pub to talk about books. It was going to rotate to various pubs, as there are a million in this little town, but after the first meeting everyone liked the one we were in so there we've stayed.
The first meeting was mostly people that worked at Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-541095532090696722016-04-14T08:04:00.000-06:002016-04-14T08:04:03.592-06:00books~
I've been reading rather a lot lately.
I love our library here. It's so filled with treasures just waiting to be unearthed. We are there at least once a week, even if it's just a "quick trip" to pick up our holds and maybe just grab a few books for the next couple of days. Ha!
Since we do so much of our schooling with regular books instead of textbooks (thank you Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-78597814335293750062016-04-08T16:56:00.000-06:002016-04-08T16:56:03.177-06:00Ending the Week
It's actually raining a bit this afternoon and I'm recycling old blog pictures because I still get stuck trying to offload new pictures. Besides, this one is rather a favorite of mine. We're scheduled for rain for the next week. It'll be nice. I barely made it through all the endless grey days of Idaho, and I never want to leave the blue of a Colorado sky again, but I Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-15275600369719587122016-04-07T17:10:00.000-06:002016-04-07T17:10:16.461-06:00tea~
It's been so very long since I've written about tea. Funny, as this blog rather started out as a tea blog. And books. And all things lovely. And then it went to babies and making things from scratch. And then moving and moving and moving. And goats. And chickens. And that cow thing. Mind, I still miss the chickens. ;)

Last week there was only a small section of water showing through the ice and snow here. We've had a few warmer days and we're all excited about spring arriving soon. There will still be snows. It's Colorado and sometimes snows in May. But the lasting snow and ice are probably done for the season.
And I am glad. We're able to walk again which is something Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-37978727181609601552016-02-13T20:21:00.001-07:002016-02-13T20:21:43.311-07:00Life Giving Home
I was first introduced to Sally Clarkson via Mission of Motherhood back when Pumpkin was just a baby. It was one of those books you remember always as a turning point. I had worked as a classroom teacher, officer worker, and in sales or customer service ever since I began working as a teen. I love being back here in Colorado. I can drive 15 minutes from our home and be here. And that blue sky? What can I say? I longed for that blue sky the years in Idaho. To have sunshine on a winter day is such a gift and one I seem to need. Too much endless grey seems to seep into the very heart of me.

Living here is interesting. There are so many wonderful things to do and see. We are trying to make the best choices knowing there are only so many moments in a day.
For so long, I ran from one activity/meeting/class/event to another. When I decided to take a step back from it all a few, well, seven, years ago, I thought it would be a temporary break from running at a Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-5317266155344967142015-07-21T18:39:00.004-06:002015-07-21T18:39:42.434-06:00absorbing~
I've been silent here awhile.
I've been absorbing so many things.
With school done for awhile I've been reading a lot. Some of it is for school starting in a few weeks, but also just reading for myself.
I've got a stacks, well, really several stacks, of books I'm pouring through. Some are quick reads and just for entertainment, but many more are ones that must be read slowly to Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-15612800168837422642015-05-24T13:25:00.001-06:002015-05-24T13:25:52.108-06:00~Home~
So I went away last weekend.
It was wonderful.
It was quiet.
(If you've met my family in person, then you know how important that was.)
I rested, read, prayed, planned and just enjoyed the break.
Back home, I decided I needed to be intentional about incorporating the elements of the retreat into everyday life here.
Atmosphere means a lot to me and affects how I feel quite a lot. To Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-73689902019107297992015-05-14T14:58:00.001-06:002015-05-14T15:50:19.730-06:00Away~
I'm in the middle of life here at home, getting ready for a few ladies to come over tonight for the first time, but I find myself really looking forward to tomorrow.
As soon as school is complete tomorrow I am going on a personal retreat. The last time I was alone for an extended time was my trip to Portland about four years ago. I love memoirs. I do. There is just something so fun about a glimpse into another's daily life. I guess it was the early version of blogging. I love peoples' stories. I love to hear their voices.
I am currently reading two biographies, one on Dietrich Bonhoffer and one on Beatrix Potter. They are fascinating. They aren't the quickest or easiest of Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-46396814033005348892015-05-12T14:26:00.001-06:002015-05-12T14:26:21.782-06:00Start SmallAs I mentioned in a previous post, I've been reading a lot about Permaculture. I've really liked what I've read. A lot of the books were on planning how to set up your land for the best yields and ease of use.
When we arrived at our place in Idaho we had no plan. We were immediately in survival mode. And that's where we lived the whole time.
Now, we're planning howKimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-30076137304290240392015-05-10T18:43:00.004-06:002015-05-10T18:43:56.176-06:00Happy Mothers Day!
It's been a nice day here. We were hoping for a chance to break in the fire pit this evening, but the rains are still threatening and the wind has picked back up. It's a bummer. I'd really like to sit out by a fire and listen to the creek. Maybe tomorrow though.
I saw this picture of a certain little lady from last month. She was on her way out on a date with Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-38975209407351939642015-05-09T16:34:00.000-06:002015-05-09T16:34:10.279-06:00Springtime
The days roll on. Some fast, some slow and they add up sometimes before I even realize it. It's May now. Spring in Colorado means beautiful sunny sky days followed with the snow we've had throughout the day today.
Our days mostly revolve around our learning times. Regular lessons in the morning, lunch and reading time in the afternoons. We're taking regular fieldKimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-12280000972195374782015-03-26T17:00:00.000-06:002015-03-28T10:57:59.129-06:00books & teas & bees
These are the things that are filling up my free moments. Free moments are those times not full of darling kiddos, Sweetheart, schooling, cooking, cleaning and the endless laundering. Thankfully, there are some.
I've long combined books and tea, but the bees are a new thing. More about them soon.
Since we've moved here we've been haunting the library. It's so nice to Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-73852293867372019442015-02-02T20:39:00.001-07:002015-02-02T20:39:41.882-07:00A Quiet Place
I find myself needing a quiet place these days. I want to write and share and delight and entertain and teach, but I walk past my computer, and keep on going. There is nothing wrong at all.
I am reading a lot and writing on paper, but that doesn't show up here, does it? I also can't seem to get my pictures and my computer to play nice and I find this place looks all wrong Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03383635329315687176noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34486277.post-6650705782858696022015-01-12T09:00:00.004-07:002015-01-12T09:00:36.666-07:00Update on Joanne

"In my experience when people once begin to read they go on. They begin because they think they ought to and they go on because they must. Yes. They find it widens life.
