Dining Room

This is an old magazine cover I found years ago and framed.

I love Jessie Wilcox-Smith's work.

The rolling pin underneath was my grandmother's.

My father made the holder for it.

I love this corner.

Kimberly - I love this arrangement. Very clever to match your sentimental item with the picture, which I like very much. It's lovely.

In all our shuffling of items from room to room -- the one thing destroyed with our move (so far *sigh*) was an antique picture from an old schoolbook. I had two old black and white illustrations that I had framed about 20 years ago in a dusty rose and burgundy mat. The backing on one frame came loose, the picture popped out and someone (unnamed, but aged 2 - lol) stepped on it. Ah well - I promised myself before I even had children that I would not fret over damaged "things," -- hurt feelings and broken hearts are much worse for a family than a few broken items.

So I guess I'm on the lookout for another old, black and white schoolbook illustration. Sorry to ramble, your magazine picture just made me think of it -- that's all. :o)

Oh, how sad for you. Moving is tough. We had some things not make it in quite the same condition on our last move. By the way, your home is quite lovely. It looks so nice, I wouldn't want to move. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
