Quietly Grateful for the Rain

A rainy morning is a bit welcome. It means I can stay inside and make granola and whatever else and take a break from outdoor work. There's lots to unpack and settle and clean.

Yesterday's laundry that didn't dry in the rain (!) will head to the porch to finish up.

Grandma's percolator is going and the morning milk is chilling. Looking forward to that first hot cuppa joe this day.

I'm so glad you're here.

This blog began a long time ago. I started writing when I was home with just my first child. I wrote a lot back then about tea and books.
After my second child was born, I wrote less (of course), and began to chronicle the changes we started toward a simpler and slower paced life. I began to share a lot about all the cool stuff I was learning to make from scratch.
Those changes led to us choosing to leave our life in the city of Denver for life in rural Idaho. We moved just after our last child was born. We worked in earnest on our little farm with chickens, goats and even a milk cow for awhile. We learned a lot.
Recently, we moved back to Colorado to be closer to family and not live quite so isolated a life. We're now in a relatively small town, though to us it feels big, and beginning our lives over yet again.
I still love to read with my cup of tea. Most days find me busy at home teaching our dear kiddos. I'm still making nearly everything from scratch, but I also enjoy getting to see the people I love and shop in a decent store without having to drive an hour or more. It's the best of both worlds to me.
