"The best smell is bread,
the best saver salt,
the best love that of children."
~George Herbert
I love making our bread from the recipe in The Tasha Tudor Cookbook. It makes four lovely loaves. I use honey instead of the sugar per Tasha's suggestion, as it does make the crusts so much softer.
I slice it after it cools and freeze the slices, so we have bread ready to go whenever. I may never buy bread again! It was so good last night with our Chicken and Rice Soup.
There's no recipe for the soup, I just make it up as I go along based on whatever we have on hand. We all love it. I seem to bake a chicken a few times a month and then turn the leftovers into soup. I think it's time to start putting a few batches in the freezer for when the baby arrives...

Lovely photos, Kimberly! The bread looks delicious. I will have to look for that book at our library!
