Look what I made at naptime today!
I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but I'd packed up the sewing machine and put it away for a few months--coinciding with canning, now that I think about it.
Well, after Bunco was done Tuesday night I left the extra table up and Sweetheart got my machine back out for me. I'm planning on doing a bunch of Christmas presents on it over the next few weeks. So far I've made a hat for Dumpling, started one for Pumpkin, made myself a bag/purse, a red gingham scrunchie, and now my watercolor pencil holder.
It's far from perfect, but it's just perfect for me! I love taking my pencils with me, but didn't have an easy way to haul them around and seemed to always be misplacing them or having them falling all to the bottom of my bag. Now, I can see each one and easily have at hand which color I want.
I just made it up as I went along, which accounts for the parts I had to redo. That's ok. I'm getting more comfortable the more I try, even if I am becoming really good friends with my seam ripper...

It's lovely, Kimberly! A perfect way to take your pencils along with you!

It looks perfect from here! My mom made me something similar for my crochet needles and I love it. So handy. I never thought about making something similar for pencils.
Now let's see what you do with those pencils! :)
It's beautiful - great job! I've been sewing since I was about 10 years old and I still have a close, personal relationship with my seam ripper.
You did a great job!
Good job Kimberly! I love the fabric and how it all came out. Thank you for your comments, you can come to tea anytime. I do have to admit, Anne was fun though....but I am having even more fun planning a Christmas Nutcracker Tea...yummy food, they do go to the Land of Sweets. :)
Hello,
I enjoy viewing your blog.
The pencil case is really neat.
I myself have had my seam ripper out this past week. Oh the joy of
doing something over.
Keep smiling
Mrs. Jennifer
