40 Pounds of Apples Later...

This handy gadget is sooo wonderful. Sweetheart bought it for me when I was about 1/3 of the way through the apples. It sure made the rest go faster!

I made spiced apple slices, spiced apple butter, spiced and plain applesauce, dried apples, and an apple crisp. Today I ordered two more boxes of apples from the farm for later this week. Even though the canning is a lot of work, I sure do like the results!

Hi Kimberly -
I bought one of those when they first came out many years ago - when my now-grown kids were little. Once I used it I wouldn't go any other route with apples and applesauce. I was spoiled for life!

By the way - I greatly enjoyed your Bagel tutorial. I was especially taken with your helpers! ;o)

I borrowed one of those from a friend a few weeks ago after I was given three huge bags of apples. Be careful...I sliced my finger on it! I loved how quickly I was able to process those apples though! I put it on my wish list!

Kim- I know nothing about canning apples. Is a step-by-step too much to ask? Bren
