Merry Christmas!

I will probably not be blogging until after Christmas.  I'll see you in the New Year!

Buttercup

Moo.

Buttercup.

Brothers

These pictures are from awhile back, but I saw them this morning and had to laugh.  I had opened the kids' kitchen and noticed how nice the main cupboard and drawer looked.  Pumpkin informed me he had cleaned it all up and organized it.  Somehow, I knew it was him.

Then Dumpling said, "Look, I
just threw all my stuff in here."   Also, somehow not shocking.  I had to take the picture.  They were both so proud of themselves.

Please also note that they dress themselves.  I take no responsibility.
And yes, Dumpling's shirt is how he likes it best.
He likes to look at the tags.

Also, I am thinking I should let Pumpkin have a go at my cabinets.  They could use a bit of help.

Teas & Other Things

It has been a long time since I wrote on tea. Funny, as this started out mostly as a tea blog. I have been enjoying mint tea most evenings picked from the mint patch in the grove. I wish I had picked more! It has such a wonderful flavor. The rosehips can be made into tea as well as the jar of horsetail. I am learning so much about herbs and their many wonderful uses.

I hope this year I will be able to put in a better garden and grow all the herbs I am missing. I had so few this last year. I did buy some in Portland to help tide me over and to use in some of the more medicinal things I am trying to make.

This land and the surrounding areas have so much to offer, if you know what you are looking for. I met some folks this weekend who forage all their herbs from the area. Maybe I can go along with them in the spring and summer and learn more!

I am having a debate still about doing a Christmas Tea this year. I really want to, but know that I have a lot of other things going on as well. Not activities, just work around here. A nice Christmas Tea can be a lot of work. Sweetheart suggested I do several small one-on-one teas. I have thought about it for a few days, but come away with the feeling that that would actually be more work. One giant tea is actually easier for me.

Still thinking about it. Not sure how it would even be received around here. This is such a different place.

I guess I will just keep thinking about it and pour myself another cup of tea while I do.
